Yr Ysgwrn opens it’s doors again - 27 July 2021
With the reception area refurbished, the farmhouse chimney repaired, and the new boiler fitted, it was a pleasure to open the doors of Yr Ysgwrn again at the end of July 2021.
We have also been working developing the areas surrounding the farmhouse, including the creation of a new mindfulness map to follow when exploring the paths around the farm and an outside area for children to play.
We are offering four tours a day this year around the farmhouse, with numbers limited according to Welsh Government guidelines. We also have several new hand sterilizing areas, and a one-way system followed in the farmhouse to keep everyone safe.
We had a big blow at the end of June 2021 with the death of Gerald Williams, nephew of Hedd Wyn, who lived on the land of Yr Ysgwrn. It will be very sad for us without him here, but one of Gerald's main wishes was to keep the doors open to everyone.
And that is why it is so important that we carry on the work that was so dear to his heart.
A warm welcome awaits you at Yr Ysgwrn, and we look forward to seeing you here during the summer of 2021.
